We have been reminded of the importance of washing our hands this year. And while for years we have been teaching our little ones to wash their hands before dinner we have been reminded that germs don’t care what time of day it is. Clean hands prevent sickness. Let’s examine some handy tips and info in honor of National Handwashing Awareness Week.
Handwashing Tips
Tip #1
While washing your hands sing to yourself! In order to make sure you hit the 20 seconds it takes to wash all the germs away sing happy birthday twice, or the chorus to Jolene! Mix it up and have fun.
Tip #2
Make sure no one is left out! Don’t forget every part of your hand. That includes between your fingers, your thumbs, under your nails and the tops of your hands.
Tip #3
Dry first! Dry your hands with a paper towel and then go ahead and turn off the water using the paper towel as a shield between you and the faucet.
