Chiropractic FAQ

Is it painful to go to the chiropractor?

There is little to no pain when going to the chiropractor. You may feel pops and cracks but the chiropractor is getting your joints back into proper alignment. Some people are sore the next day.

How do you know that you need a chiropractor?

Many people associate chiropractic for just back and neck pain. However, there are many other reasons to visit a chiropractor. Misaligned bone structure can lead to nerve and muscular damage. Among the many reasons to visit a chiropractor are;

  • Headaches
  • Limited range of motion
  • Numbness and tingling in the limbs
  • You experienced whiplash
  • You sit a lot for work
  • Sciatica
  • Sinus congestion
  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • And more!

What is a chiropractor?

A chiropractor is a healthcare professional who cares for a patient’s neuromusculoskeletal system. This includes the bones, nerves, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments to help people decrease pain.

What does a chiropractor do on the first visit?

Your first visit at a chiropractor can vary depending on the injury. More severe injuries will require x-rays. However, each patient has a few things in common:

  • A thorough chiropractic exam.
  • May include the start of chiropractic. If so, a gentle adjustment.
  • Lasts about 45 minutes or more.
  • Forming a treatment plan.

What should I wear to my chiropractic adjustment?

Wear something comfortable for your chiropractic adjustment. For many people, this is sweatpants, a tee shirt, and a sweatshirt. Loose clothing makes the chiropractic adjustment easier.
